TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICE

The Teacher Professional Development Service offers Professional Development Placement (PDPs) Opportunities to teachers across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough areas.

This year the priorities for the Professional Development Placement Service are:

  1. Work-related learning and vocational learning at Key Stage 4
  2. Enterprise in the curriculum
  3. GCSEs in Vocational Subjects

How can you help?

Recent changes in the education system require wider links between education and industry. In particular where learning across key Stage 4 (15-16 year old) is related to the world of work.

We believe if teachers do not have this understanding nor can students. That’s why this service exists we aim to help teachers gain an insight of the outside world to better prepare students.

Can you spare one day a year to support a group of 12 teachers?

We need your help in supporting workshops designed to enhance the work-related learning curriculum. In the past 10 years we have had tremendous support from large companies across Cambridgeshire, we would like to rebuild this support.

Benefits to you

  • keep in touch with changes in education
  • support teaching and learning in your sector
  • promote a positive image in the community
  • influence local and nation education policy
  • encourage lifelong learning by supporting teachers/pupils and staff in your organisation

We will brief employers and help facilitate the day. For more information and discuss how to become involved please contact:
