How can the construction industry help your school, your teachers, and your pupils?
The Construction Industry Training Board can help you to provide work- related learning experiences for all pupils aged 5 19. We can help young people to learn:-
- About the world of work
- Through the world of work
- For the world of work
The support that we can offer is as follows:-
- Professional development places in the construction industry for teachers
- Site visits for teachers and pupils
- Work experience, work shadowing for pupils
- Support for curriculum subjects (such as D&T, Maths, Science, Drama etc) in the context of construction and the built environment.
- Provide young professional role models to support careers talks, seminars and industry days
- Support the school with construction vocational programmes
- Support primary schools undertake the Construction Award Scheme
- Provide resources, information and funding to support the above activities
